Toni Braxton Still Suing Ex-Manager
The singer's representatives insist the case is going ahead and
is being re-filed.
Wednesday it was claimed the R&B singer had canceled plans to sue Barry Hankerson and her former label Blackground Records for breach of contract.
But the singer's representatives insist the case is going ahead - it was simply re-filed and will proceed at New York State Court as opposed to Federal Court, on the advice of her counsel.
Braxton's lawyer Peter L. Haviland says in a statement, "We think this is the fastest route to getting Toni Braxton free and clear of Barry Hankerson."
Braxton first filed suit January 12, accusing Hankerson of profiting from her switch from Arista Records to his own Blackground Records label in 2003. She claims Hankerson owes her at least $10 million from the label change.
